The elders leave.

Neza tells her Mausi is in the other ward and he needs Sejiro to relax so he can talk to her.
Sejiro is still looking around, with a frown on her face but she remains on the bed.
Neza tells her not everyone knows how to love and people may claim they love you but when there is trouble, they abandon you, even a mother can say she loves you when she really doesn't and to find someone who will tell you the truth, just as he is talking to her, is difficult but that was the kind of Seyive had for her and she would have done everything for her.
Sejiro asks why he's saying all of that.
Neza says Seyive left everything to come to Aji for Sejiro and she loved her very much.
Sejiro tearfully asks why he's saying such things.
Neza says it's true that Seyive is dead and she died because of Sejiro.
Sejiro says she caused Seyive's death.
Neza says that's not what he's saying at all; Seyive gave her life for Sejiro so Sejiro cannot throw her own life away for the sake of revenge because Seyive wouldn't like that.
She finally gets it and weeps.
Neza holds her.

The elders have come to see Obi at the palace.
He tells them about Otogan Hudenyin's visit.
Elder Johnde says they will never relinquish any part of the land to Jegba people.
Obi suggests they just give them a little part of the land to avoid people dying.
Daddy Love asks how he can be sure they wouldn't request for more.
Obi asks what they are saying.
Daddy Love says the answer to the request is, No; Aji people have refused to give out any part of their land.
Obi asks if they want war.
Elder Johnde says if there is a war, it is the blood of the Jegba people that will be shed.

Senami enters the clinic and Matron greets her.
Senami says Matron doesn't get to act like nothing happened yesterday.
Matron says she was trying to talk to Senami but she rudely stormed off.
Senmai says she's sorry and ready to talk now.
Matron says what if she's not ready.
Senami asks why she was lying to her.
Matron says she's always been who she is and it's not her fault that Senami never saw it.
Senami says, until yesterday.
Matron says she didn't mean for Senami to see what happened yesterday but she did.
Senami says so she has...
Matron says whatever she calls it.
Senami asks if she has used them before.
Matron says yes.
Senami says so Oviyon's accident, the baby factory and what happened at the shrine when she was a kid was all Matron's doing but she made her believe it was her and that there was something wrong with her.
Matron says there is something wrong with Senami; the accident she survived, the same thing happened to Meghonu.
Senami says it's a coincidence.
Matron says Senami has gotten stronger because in the past when she (Matron) did those things, it used to give Senami amnesia but after she saved Oviyon from the accident, nothing happened to Senami and yesterday too, Senami didn't even shake.
Senami says there is nothing wrong with her.
Matron says something has changed; the hand in her grandmother's box gave her back her memories but what if that wasn't all it gave her?

The meeting is over and some elders leave the palace.

Elder Johnde and Daddy Love remain behind

Daddy Love tells Obi that they are happy with him as their Chief.

Elder Johnde says they want to discuss the issue of Folake staying in the palace and being pregnant again.

Obi asks if it's a problem.

Daddy Love says it's not a problem but they thought they were just friends and Folake would leave after her NYSC but now things have changed and they want to know the plan.

Obi says he wants to marry her.

Daddy Love says it's a good thing but she can't be the first wife because the law of the land says Otogan's first wife must be from Aji after which, he can decide to even marry a foreigner from another country.

Obi thanks them for letting him know.

Elder Johnde asks if that's all he has to say.

Obi says they won't like to hear what else he has to say.

Sesinu is with Kingsley in his house.
He asks if she has had something to eat.

She says she doesn't understand why she's there and still wonders why she answered the door that day when he showed up at her doorstep.
He says it's because she has a kind heart and he needed her help.

She says she should have called the police.

He says he didn't and he still doesn't know how he would repay her.
She says his wife's case should have been sorted out a long tie ago and it's the least she could do, considering she betrayed his wife.
He asks if she regrets them being together.

She says she swore never to come back to Aji.
He says Aji is not so bad when she gets used to it.
She asks what she will tell her sister who will be so disappointed in her.

Kingsley tells her to look at him.

She looks at him.

He says it's about them and anyone else can go to hell.

He kisses her.

She responds then pulls away.

She tells him she can't deal with the animosity between him and Senami so he should try talking to Senami.

He says Senami won't believe him.

She begs him to just try.
He says okay.

Obi is alone with Folake.

Folake says after all she has done for Aji they have the guts to say she can't be a first wife.

Obi tells her not to blame them.

She tells him not to defend them.

She asks how they got to know about the baby.
He says he has no idea.

She asks if they can just leave Aji

He says he wants to but...

She says she understands his fears but Aji doesn't love him and will only use him to fight their wars and tie him down with tradition but Aji doesn't love him, she does.

He says he wishes it was that easy.

She tells him to leave before Aji steals his life away.

Neza and Sejiro enter the clinic ward to meet Mausi

Mausi leans back in fear.

Sejiro asks how Seyive died.

Mausi says it was Dethin who said she heard from the Gods that Seyive was supposed to make a sacrifice for Mausi to get her healing but she (Mausi) had no idea that Seyive would be the sacrifice.

Sejiro says Mausi is still ill.

Mausi says she later discovered that Dethin lied and never heard from the gods; Sejiro would never have lied to her.

Sejiro says so it's her fault that Seyive died.

Mausi says it's not Sejiro's fault but her own fault for ignoring the things she noticed was wrong with Dethin.

She begs Sejiro to forgive her, calling her 'My true Akweyon.'

Sejiro says so her sister died for nothing.

Neza and Sejiro are by the riverbank.

Folake, Obi, Senami and a couple stand behind them.

Neza says 'We will miss you Seyive. Your sister will miss you.
Until we see again in another life, sleep well.'

Sejiro drops a calabash with leaves in the river.

Senami is in tears.

Peace comes to see Mausi in the clinic.

She asks how Mausi is doing.

Mausi says she's dying.

Peace says Obi is not Miyise.

Mausi says no.

Peace is shocked she knows.

Mausi asks if she should have allowed a madman rule Aji or a stranger.

Peace looks confused.

Mausi says there is madness in the Adomeh family, Miyise and Sewedo had it, Miyise took out Nowheyon's eye and Sewedo killed Glory.

Peace is shocked.

She says even at that Obi can't just come from nowhere to rule Aji.

Mausi says Obi came to lie and steal but he's now tied to Aji and will live the rest of his life there.

She says she did it to keep Aji safe.

Peace asks what the gods said.

Mausi says no one knows what the gods want, not her, not Peace, not Akweyon and it seems not even the gods.

Iya Oviyon comes to the lodge to see Oviyon

She asks if that's where he's staying.

He says until he gets a place.

Iya apologises to him and begs him to come home.

Senami says she will excuse them.

Iya begs her to stay and talk to Oviyon for her.

Oviyon says he won't go back.

Iya says she can't stay alone.

He says he's been away before and she stayed by herself, besides, she has Daddy Love whom she's getting married to, soon.

Iya says Daddy Love has broken up with her.

Oviyon looks concerned.

He asks why.

She tells him that Daddy Love said she doesn't care about him.

Oviyon asks if she cares.

She says she does.

He asks why she's there and not with Daddy Love reassuring him that she cares.
He says it's time she starts living her life.
He walks away.

Peace returns to the shrine.
Dethin asks in pidgin English, what Mausi said.
Peace asks if she should be talking.
She tells her to get out of the way.
Dethin tells her not to believe anything Mausi says because Mausi is weak now that was why she allowed a thief become Otogan.
She says Peace is the new Mausi and the one in charge; the old Mausi started it but Peace has to finish it.
