Well, two and a half weeks ago we had 64 shows. We now have 32, and it was a seriously good opening round. I'll talk a little more about that tomorrow once I know the final couple of results to write these pieces in advance. So, for now, let's move on and kick off round two.
Revived NBC drama Timeless kicks things off, as it did on the opening day. It's a good start for the time travel series and today is up against another freshman fantasy drama in HBO's Westworld. This could be a tight battle, although I'd expect Timeless to emerge as the winner here.
Arrow made it out of the first round for only the second time in five attempts, beating The Vampire Diaries to do so. That result was a minor surprise, if only due to TVD being a seed, but realistically the Emerald Archer was always in with a good shout of being on target. Today will be much tougher, though, because Major Crimes has finished in the top four in both of its two previous appearances. Terrific tie in prospect.
