This might well be the battle of the second round. 2014 winner Outlander, a show which continues to garner love from its fans and which won the Episode Competition this year, faces Supergirl, runner-up in that same competition just weeks ago. The basis for these two is a role reversal from that competition - there, Supergirl's instalment was the top seed, while Outlander's wasn't one at all; today, the Starz series is the top current show while its opponent failed to make the top eight. On that day in July, it went with the "underdog". Will that happen again today?
Gilmore Girls is up next. The hype around its revival a little under a year ago is serving it well once again, with the series set for at least its second-best finish should it progress today. And there's no reason why it shouldn't have every chance, because its opponent, The Big Bang Theory, has typically struggled during this competition. This year is its fifth attempt and marks the first time it has reached this stage. I'd be surprised if it went further.
