The 100 did a demolition job on 24 in round one - to no one's surprise, I'd imagine - leaving the real time drama the lowest ranked show of the competition. Its historical stats don't flatter the show, having never made it past this stage in three attempts. It really can be a dangerous force. Enter Stranger Things, Netflix's 2016 summer phenomenon that hooked the world. Pretty Little Liars didn't fare much better against it in the opening stage. That these two are going head-to-head today rather than in a later round speaks to how competitive this year's draw is.

For Person of Interest, it's a case of one round done, five to go as the series looks to make it three consecutive trophy wins. Gossip Girl provided little danger. It has won 13 consecutive ties in this competition since the start of 2015's iteration; Supernatural currently holds the record of 15 on the spin, from 2010 to 2012. Today, Forever looks to topple the reigning champion. ABC's one-season series goes a touch under the radar at times but is still capable of doing well here, I think. But this may be a mountain too steep to climb.
