20th Century Fox said today that it is making a feature film based on the Fox animated series Bob’s Burgers and has set a July 2020 release date. The series is coming off an Emmy win this year for Outstanding Animated Series and took the same honor in 2014.
“We’re thrilled to be invited to bring Bob’s Burgers to the big screen,” show creator Loren Bouchard said. “We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who’ve never seen the show. We also know it has to fill every inch of the screen with the colors and the sounds and the ever so slightly greasy texture of the world of Bob’s – but most of all it has to take our characters on an epic adventure. In other words, it has to be the best movie ever made. But no pressure, right?!”
Hulu has landed for development LA Woman, a single-camera comedy from Casual executive producer/showrunner Liz Tigelaar, director Lynn Shelton, and producers Amy Pascal and Elizabeth Cantillon. Sony TV’s TriStar Television is the studio.
Created, written and executive produced by Tigelaar, LA Woman is a coming-of-age comedy inspired by the memoirs of Eve Babitz, the reigning “it” girl of Los Angeles in the late 1960s and early 70s. Half West Coast wild child, half boho intellectual, and all bombshell, Eve described herself as a “stacked eighteen-year-old blonde on Sunset Boulevard… who is also a writer,” and surprised everyone by becoming one of LA’s enduring literary voices — most of all, herself.
The project is based on Babitz’s four books, Eve’s Hollywood; Slow Days, Fast Company; Sex and Rage; and LA Woman, which Cantillon and Pascal optioned in 2015 through TriStar TV.
Christopher Meyer (The Fosters) has been cast in a key role opposite Dominic West in the upcoming fourth season of Showtime’s The Affair.
Season 4 finds Noah (West), Helen (Maura Tierney), Alison (Ruth Wilson) and Cole (Joshua Jackson) in their own orbits, alienated from one another, spinning farther and farther away from where they all began. Every character is involved in a new relationship, forcing each to decide if they’re ready and willing to leave the past behind for good.
Meyer will play Anton Gatewood, a defiant but brilliant high school student of Noah (West). Caught between his parents’ expectations, Anton struggles to find his own sense of self amid episodes of self-sabotage and doubt.

EXCLUSIVE: The Men in Black are back. Sony Pictures has fast tracked a spinoff of its billion-dollar alien franchise. The studio today will stake out a May 17, 2019, release date for an untitled film that has a script by Matt Holloway & Art Marcum, the writers of Iron Man and Transformers: The Last Knight.
Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones aren’t expected to reprise, but the film acknowledges and builds on the world they inhabited. Holloway & Marcum have scripted a contemporary sci-fi pic about the black-clad secret force that protects earth from the alien scum of the universe, focusing on new characters chasing villains that put the picture on more of a global scale than the two previous films. The ambition is akin to the way that Jurassic World rebooted and expanded that franchise. The MiB spinoff film is being produced by Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald and executive produced by Steven Spielberg. They are actively involved in meeting with top directors right now and expect to land one quickly.

HULU LOCKS IN EXCLUSIVE U.S. SUBSCRIPTION STREAMING RIGHTS TO FAN FAVORITES "BOY MEETS WORLD," "HOME IMPROVEMENT" AND "DINOSAURS"
New Licensing Agreement with Disney-ABC Television Group to Mark the Subscription Streaming Debut of Even More of America's Favorite Sitcoms from the '90s to Hulu
SANTA MONICA, CA (September 29, 2017) -- Today Hulu announced a new agreement with the Disney-ABC Television Group for the exclusive U.S. subscription video-on-demand rights to all episodes of iconic sitcoms Boy Meets World, Home Improvement and Dinosaurs. The deal will mark the long-awaited SVOD debut of the complete libraries of hit series Boy Meets World and Home Improvement. In addition, all episodes of fan favorite Dinosaurs, from The Jim Henson Company, will also become available to stream in SVOD exclusively on Hulu. All titles will begin streaming on Hulu September 29th.
The series will join hundreds of episodes of previously announced hit shows from America's favorite Friday night lineup from the 1990s on Hulu - including Full House, Family Matters, Step by Step, Perfect Strangers and Hangin' with Mr. Cooper - and the agreement will make Hulu the exclusive subscription streaming home to the largest collection of series from the original "TGIF" lineup with the addition of Boy Meets World and Dinosaurs. All series launch exclusively on the service beginning September 29th, just in time for the 30th Anniversary of Full House and the 25th Anniversary of Hangin' with Mr. Cooper.
After premiering in the 1990s as part of ABC's "TGIF" lineup, Boy Meets World became a hit family series that went on to air for seven seasons. The series remains just as beloved to date and has been syndicated, as well as inspired spinoffs. The complete series will make its subscription streaming debut on Hulu on September 29th.
Emmy(R) Award- and Golden Globe(R)-winning sitcom Home Improvement was one of the most-watched sitcoms of the 1990s. Based loosely on the standup comedy of series star Tim Allen, the series ran on ABC from 1991 to 1999 and has never been available through a subscription streaming service.
Lastly, cult favorite "TGIF" series, Dinosaurs, will also become available to stream on Hulu on September 29th. After airing in the 1990s under ABC's original "TGIF" lineup, the family sitcom from Jim Henson Productions was recognized for its efforts to cover topical issues including environmentalism and endangered species, and still inspires numerous cultural references today.
The news emphasizes Hulu's commitment to bringing together some of the most iconic and popular series throughout the years, all on one platform. In July, Hulu announced a separate deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution for the exclusive streaming video on-demand rights to all episodes of iconic series Full House, Family Matters, Step By Step, Perfect Strangers and Hangin' with Mr. Cooper.
