Horror Disaster
Well, this was a pleasant & unexpected surprise and one I'd thought I wouldn't be able to get into, but alas I was wrong. It's not one of the most amazing films, ever, nor will it go down as a pure classic, but this contemporary, horror film from Australia gets by thanks to the wacky premise. Bunch of people, including two robbers - one being Julian McMahon of Nip/Tuck - are trapped in a supermarket with a flesh-eating shark on their tail. The CGI water effects look good, but the shark effects are so-so, the acting is for the most part passable with some lull scenes, but the different characters are what makes it still work & without them & the shark, Bait would be even more forgettable. This is a shark movie, and so one shouldn't get their hopes high and expect much from it. And it makes a tad more of an effort, which cannot be said for Jaws 3. This is the Australian version of Jaws with a supermarket/grocery store setting thrown in.
All in all, this one is actually all right, so yes. Especially if you enjoy horror films.
