Lately, I've been too busy for this blogging stuff. Throughout February, I only made a handful of posts. Life, hmph. It's been so hectic I almost forgot about the blogathon hosted by one of my main blogging buddies, m.brown at Two Dollar Cinema. It's the 3rd annual...er...not really annual 'cuz he skipped a couple...ya know what? Never mind. Just know that it's the 3rd annual Mt. Rushmore of Movies Blogathon. And what kind of friend would I be if I didn't participate? That's right, I'd be a dickish one. I'd hate for that to happen and wind up on his Mt. Rushmore of...um...dicks. I'm sure I'd make it if I stiffed him after promising to do it. Wouldn't wanna leave him hangin'. He might take it kinda hard.
I'm sorry. I'll try to be more mature. Butt no promises.
I'm sorry again. Don't mind me. I'm just an asshole watching movies.
Anyhoo, the rules to participate in this thing is ridickulously easy, butt instead of me rambling on, I'll let our host explain it...
Got it. Soooo...what am I gonna post about. I jerked around a few ideas before coming to my final cuntclusion. Since I'm obviously indulging my juvenile side, it only seemed right that I'd go with...
The Mt. Rushmore of Pam Grier Fight Scenes!
Ya know things are rough when you can't even attend a nice, little yacht party in peace. At least, Pam can't. Never phased by a tough situation, she handles her business and makes a smooth, aquatic getaway. And you thought black folks didn't swim.
Pam goes into a lesbian bar to retrieve a friend and all hell breaks loose. I mean, you just know that one chick is gonna be trouble when the first words we hear her say are "I'm a fuckin' lady, I ain't gotta work in no factory." Well, alrighty then, let the games begin. If this scene taught me anything it's that a black belt in karate is no match for a black belt in bar stools.
Our girl Pam, takes on a group of prostitutes at a high-falutin' shindig. And she came ready to fight. In case you can't tell what she's doing at the very beginning of this clip, she's getting prepared by hiding razor blades in her hair. Unfortunately, this isn't the entire scene. It's cut short because just about everybody winds up topless. And this ain't that kinda site.
This is one of those ever-classy women in prison films where lesbianism is milked for every titillating possibility. Spoiler alert! Pam takes a loss in this one. However, it's her and the also alluring Roberta Collins rolling around in the mud. Who could be mad at that? God bless Roger Corman.
