- Avengers: Endgame tickets went on sale and pretty much broke the internet. There is also new TV spot. Oh God, the hype levels now! I got my ticket for Friday 26th. Please just don't kill Thor.
- Meanwhile Hemsworth is out there, uploading stuff like this on his instagram.
- I think he wants people to actually die before they get to see the movie, there is no other explanation for this filth.
- It was Robert Downey Jr.'s 54th (!) birthday yesterday and Chris and Tessa recorded a sweet birthday message.
- Here's brilliant artwork depicting Angelina Jolie as Sersi, one of The Eternals. I really like the idea of Marvel casting a woman in their 40's to led a franchise so hopefully this is the part she is actually up for. Also having read a bit about the character it would be so cool if she played Sersi because she is giving me some serious 90's, wild, hedonistic and crazy Angelina vibes.
- Ladies and gentlemen, Chadwick Boseman:
- Jared Leto is overseas filming Morbius but he still trolled the moronic DC fanboys gloriously.
- Mark Hamill is the voice of Chucky in the remake.
- During CinemaCon first footage from It: Chapter Two was shown - here's the description. The cast also attended. Ugh. Chastain.
- Game of Thrones season 8 premiere was this week and Jason attended. Then he partied and it went pretty much the way you expect.
- Zac Efron has a youtube channel now. I haven't check it out yet because I'm scared for my health. Also there's this.
- So last week I was all happy that we are getting Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile in theaters on May 10. Now Netflix announced it drops on their platform on May 3. But there is actually some confusion and we don't know if we are also getting it on Netflix here on Poland. Goddammit! Just give me the date and tell me where and when I can watch it?! Anyways here's new trailer and new poster:
- First poster and trailer for Joker. There's so much annoying hyperbole over it already. That this is like Taxi Driver. What? I find Phoenix to be in general a massively overrated actor. He wanders and mumbles through his performances. And The Joker is such an overused character. And yet people shit themselves over this. You know what CBM deserved that attention? Logan which trailer was magnificent and Jackman should have won an Oscar for it. This whole Joker flick is just....a thing that exist.
- Also seriously comparing a movie by Todd Philips to Taxi Driver is in poor taste.
- Trailer for Annabelle Comes Home. I'm so happy to see Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson in new scenes! Hopefully this is another Annabelle: Creation that's actually good and not a wasted opportunity like first Annabelle and The Nun. Also that babysitter is one dumb bitch. Why would you touch any of this stuff let alone ALL of it?!
- Midsommar moved up to July 3 but currently it changes nothing for me because there is still no release date set here.
- What the hell is going on here?!
- Cillian Murphy joined the cast of A Quiet Place 2. I hope this is a good role for him. Also the balls on Krasinski if he is playing the love interest. Would you really like to see your wife have hot scenes with a handsome dude like that?
- So I continued my Tarantino marathon. I rewatched Jackie Brown which is such an underrated movie. It's so brilliant and engaging and Pam Grier is just lovely. Robert Forster's Oscar nomination for this is one of my all time favorites. It's really Tarantino's most mature movie which hits you even more when you watch it after something filled with juvenile stuff like Django and Hateful Eight - it's really incredible it came from the same director. There's been such a steep drop in quality of his movies after Inglourious Basterds.
- I also saw Reservoir Dogs which is good but it's so clearly his first movie. The production values are pretty terrible but it always amazes me how Tarantino managed to get all those famous actors in there on his first try.
- And then I rewatched Pulp Fiction which is seriously one of the best written movies of all time. I don't think it will ever leave my top 10 movies. It's so incredible and Vincent and Jules' scenes are funny as hell.
- I also rewatched Snow White and The Huntsman and good lord I know Kristen Stewart can be really good but it was definitely not an example of that. She gives the word bland a new meaning here. How do you not have chemistry with Chris? Especially when he is saying dirty things like "you don't pull out until you see their soul"? Is she even alive?
- Anyways, that movie is so damn boring. It's also super creepy when you consider it is basically a film made for children. There is weird incest vibe between the queen and her creepy brother, there is a really disturbing scene where the brother fondles Snow White and then there are all those instances where the magical animals are either scared or hurt. So it's neither a movie for kids nor for adults. Hemsworth is not even fully shirtless in it, so the bottom line is that the movie is useless and the only great thing that came out of it is that Florence and the Machine song.
- I was expecting the trailer for It Chapter 2 to drop with Pet Sementary but when I read it won't - it will probably be attached to The Curse of la Llarona - I decided to rewatch the first one. It's such a mess of a movie where the first 40 minutes or so are painfully episodic, but the kids make it a lot of fun to watch and Pennywise is a great villain. Sophia Lils is the heart of this movie. She is so warm and sweet. Casting Chastain as the grown up version of the character is a disaster. She has all the warmth of a refrigerator. It's so obvious she was cast just because she is friends with the director. She even got her friend a gig as Audra in this.
- I also rewatched The Avengers. Man, we have come such a long way. It's crazy to think this movie was just 7 years ago and here we are so many movies and so many events later.
