Review
TOY STORY 3 first came out in 2010 to a glowingly huge reception. Still, I was very sceptical that this threequel would live up to my expectations and of course I didn’t know it was going to be better than the first two movies. My doubts were probably because of the inclusion of Barbie and Ken in this addition. I was worried that there would be a romantic side-story to the film and this would take over the whole feature. However, thankfully my doubts were proven wrong and there are several moments in this movie that had nothing to do with romance. For instance, sequences like the climatic incinerator scene as well as the ending. These sequences could leave both young and old viewers with some fear and heartbreak. There are some scenes which may be difficult to watch for very young kids, but don't worry this is short-lived. Fans see TOY STORY 3 as the end of one chapter in this much-loved story with the promise of more fun to come.

It's legitimately moving and funny as you would expect of a Pixar film or a TOY STORY sequel. The characters that fans have grown to love over the years are present such as Buzz, Woody, Slinky, Hamm, Mr. Potato Head, Jessie and Rex. There are new additions like Lotso who rules Sunnyside Daycare with an iron fist and proves to be a fearsome antagonist. The animation is typical of Pixar's artistry and realism which has improved greatly over the years with the advancements in computer animation.

While most of the actors have returned to voice the characters like Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, etc, this excludes the late Jim Varney who was replaced by Blake Clark as Slinky. Ned Beatty gives a significant turn in voicing Lotso, as if his character was the cute and cuddly bear that he seems to be on the outside but has the heart of the villain which Lotso proves to have.

TOY STORY 3 was another excellent instalment and I enjoyed this movie, despite my initial reservations. I probably think it was one of the greatest Pixar films so far, because CARS 2 and BRAVE don't have the same depth and emotion that was explored in TOY STORY 3. Highly recommended for people who like Andy have grown up with their favourite toys as well as a new generation of fans who want to see more of Buzz and Woody.

Star rating: (10/10) Best Movie Ever
