Review
Many people know the name of Alfred Hitchcock as he was one of Hollywood's legendary directors and was known for being the master of suspense. I have not seen his movies, nor did I see his classic TV show. What I do know is that I learned from his history as well as seeing the references that were used in some TV series and others. I remember looking an article of 'VERTIGO' that it surpassed 'Citizen Kane' as the greatest movie of all time.

When I finally got to see the film on Netflix, I did notice the influences that were used in other features. Movies like 'Jaws' as well as 'Toy Story 2have been taking inspiration from Hitchcock's masterpiece and this goes to show that 'VERTIGO' is a cinematic classic.

Hitchcock had done so many movies that this is the best he could come up with. The film has a great storyline and it is contained with moments that will shock and thrill you. I like how the movie's cinematography has those dolly-zoom shots in some scenes which originate the effect that was used in other features. The performances from James Stewart and Kim Novak are spot-on, but for the actor Stewart, he was clearly the director's go-to-guy and one of his favourites with Cary Grant.

'VERTIGO' was a great movie but not one of my very best in my opinion. Still, I would get out instantly to re-watch this classic and see the others that Hitchcock has directed in his lifetime.

Star rating: (8/10) Very Good Movie
