This is the sixth album that Klaus Schulze made using the pseudonym Richard Wahnfried, although the word "Richard" doesn't appear anywhere on the cover or liner notes. Unlike the previous Wahnfried albums, "Trance Appeal" has remained in print with frequent re-releases.
The tracks are distinct pieces of music, each with its own identity, but they're connected to one another in a single mix, the end of one piece frequently overlapping the beginning of the next piece.
Most of the tracks are slow and dreamy. I've read that a lot of Klaus Schulze fans consider this to be the best Wahnfried album. I don't agree. The overall feeling is lightweight and unemotional. There's not enough action.
The exact date of the bonus track is unknown, except that it was recorded a few years later. It also features Jörg Schaaf.
