Plot
When aspiring musicians Lars and Sigrit are given the opportunity to represent their country at the world's biggest song competition, they finally have a chance to prove that any dream worth having is a dream worth fighting for.

Verdict
A glam rock comedy should be wild and fun. That doesn't happen often enough. The movie is too long for the amount of comedy included. While it ends well, that's a big commitment to reach the end considering what you must endure.
Skip it.

Review
I wasn't expecting much from this and it still disappointed. Will Ferrell movies are a certain type, but with Rachel McAdams in this I had some amount of hope for a movie that would suffice. This is over the top at times, which I expected. I just expected more excess since this has a big glam rock vibe.

Eurovision is a multi-country song contest. It's like American Idol.

It's long, and that's a problem when this isn't that funny. Ferrell's style has grown tale many movies ago, but I thought it could work. I like Talladega Night, but this movie is more trying to be funny than actually succeeding. Does this want to be that movie stuffed with one liners and ridiculous scenes or is more a modern Spinal Tap? Whether it wants to be either one, it doesn't get there.

Dan Stevens does a great job as a Russian singer. Part of the reason is that his scenes are short. It's a touch of humor that doesn't drag.

The ending is surprisingly good, providing a connection to Lars and Sigrit's home country of Iceland through song. The credits have a great detail with a flag of where I presume each actor resides.

The movie tries to derive a lot of its humor from Lars failures, and that just doesn't work. If the movie were sillier, that would help. There are some silly moments throughout the film, but it's not enough.
