With everyone stuck at home and barely able to go to the movies, and with film festivals pretty much shut down except for drive in movies, five of the big fall festivals- Boston Underground, Brooklyn Horror, Northbend Film Festival, The Overlook Film Festival and The Popcorn Frights Film Festival- got together, pooled their resources to make a super on line horror festival with the best of the best- NIGHTSTREAM.
This is such a super line up of fests and films that I’m kind of shocked that I haven’t seen NightStream hasn’t been doing advertisements of the sort that you would get for the racing shows they played on the radio – you know what I mean THIS SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY THE BEST RACERS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY COME TOGETHER AT ENGLISHTOWN NEW JERSEY FOR FUEL INJECTED MAYHEM! With lots of reverb. However in this case it would be your computer instead of Englishtown and October 8 to 11 instead of Sunday.
In any case NightStream is almost here and it’s time for you to put together your must see list of films. I’m still working on mine which includes pretty much everything that is playing. It is understandable since I am ultimately a horror junkie.
As it stands now we here at Unseen have covered a bunch of films (see below) and we’re working on seeing as many of the features as we can. Reviews will be coming when all of the embargos lift.
I am also working on is trying to see as many of the well over 150 short films that that they are screening. Honestly they are running so many great shorts that it’s a horror festival unto itself. There are so many that I think the reviews will run way past the fest. They will also not be grouped into the sections but put together as I sa them, ala carte.
If you are smart you will go to the website (its right here) and pick some films out- or if you have four days free a pass that includes everything- and indulge in the spooky goodness.
Since we at Unseen were lucky enough to catch some of the films previously I’m giving you a head start as to what to see by posting links to the films we’ve covered previously.
MY HEART CAN’T BEAT UNLESS YOU TELL IT TO
THE ANIMATOR - which I saw but because the title is a term used often on this site was not something I could pull up. Its a wicked film about a clam man being tortured. Its wrong in all the right ways.
With that out of the way its time once more to send you to the NightStream website and have to buy passes.
